Hepworth Parish Council have been working together with Suffolk County Council to address the issue of speeding in The Street.

Traffic counters were placed on The Street during 2020 and the data collected confirmed that speeds were unacceptably high, especially for a village that for the most part does not have any footpath.

Please note that the plans are a combination of traffic calming measures that, when taken together, provide the maximum speed reduction.

The plans were drawn up by an engineer from Suffolk Highways who is a recognised expert in his field and aware of the current regulations that must be adhered to when designing speed reduction measures, every village has unique characteristics that influence the available measures and all have been considered by the engineer prior to the publication.
