January 2024:
A month where precipitation was slightly above average, yet 86% of it fell in the first five days of the month. On the 2nd a very strong wind gust (for Suffolk) of 67 mph was recorded as ‘Storm Henk’ deepened on its passage into the North Sea.
February 2024:
Exceptionally mild and wet. The mildest February in my record (2009) beating the mild February of 2022 by +1.2ºC. Also the wettest February in my record with 256% of normal precipitation and frequent falls over 10 mm. Ground remained saturated throughout the month. 17/18th: Heavy rain caused major local flooding again!
