May 2018
Very dry and a very warm month. Warmest May in my records (going back to 2009) with mean temperature 2.5C above the May average. Completely dry between the 13th and 23rd inclusive. The month was dominated by winds from the NE and East.
June 2018
Weather wise, 2018 is turning in to a year of extremes and contrasts. June was an exceptionally dry and sunny month. Although warm (+1.8C above average), it was not as warm as June 2017, the heat being tempered by persistent N/NE winds off the cool North Sea. 96% of the months total rainfall fell on the first 2 days of the month. No measurable rain has fallen between the 10th June and up to the time of writing (10/07/18), 31 days. The last week of June averaged over 11 hours of sun daily.
