Thanks to the generosity of Richard from Wup Doodle, Hepworth now has its own defibrillator which will be situated outside the gates of Stimson’s yard. Signs directing the public to the device will be erected in the near future.
In the event of an emergency when a casualty is not breathing, call 999. The ambulance service will inform the caller of the location and access code to the defibrillator. A defibrillator or Automated external defibrillator (AED) is a device that checks for heart rythmn and it can send an electric shock to the heart to restore normal rythmn. It is commonly used in the event of a cardiac arrest or heart attack.
Basic life support training sessions and AED training will be available to all residents in the near future. Watch this space.
