I started my teaching career in a large primary school in London. I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher and qualified at the age of 21 after completing a degree in Primary Education. Whilst at this school, I took on various leadership roles over the 7 years that I worked there.
In 2015, I decided to relocate to Suffolk and became the Deputy Headteacher at a small school in Lowestoft. Suffolk gave me the opportunity to do what I love: countryside walks, being by the sea and exploring what the natural world has to offer in this beautiful part of the country. Over the 5 years as Deputy, I have led predominantly on writing a curriculum that has local history at its heart as well as broadening children’s horizons to the wider world.
I’m really looking forward to starting my new role as Headteacher at Barningham CEVC Primary school. After being brought up a Christian and attending church schools as a child, I was truly attracted to this school because of its strong links with the church and its Christian values. I can see the incredible work that Frances Parr has led on in the last 10 years and I look forward to building upon this work for the years to come.
