HEPWORTH PARISH COUNCIL: VACANCY FOR A PARISH CLERK

Hepworth Parish Council is looking for an enthusiastic and selfmotivated person who is community minded and enjoys working with the public, to take on the role of Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer.

The post is for a 4.5 hours per week, home based and includes attendance at all Parish Council meetings which are usually ten a year.

Duties include:

  • Organising and attending council meetings, preparing agendas and writing minutes
  • Maintaining the village noticeboard
  • Uploading parish council documents to website
  • Maintaining files and documents
  • Implementing the Council’s decisions
  • Attending to email correspondence
  • Managing the finances, preparing the annual budget, requesting the precept and reporting finances to the Council
  • Advise the Council
  • Be the first point of contact for the public.

Pay will be in line with NALC guidelines and according to experience and qualifications. A Certificate in Local Council Administration (Cilca) would be an advantage as would experience of being a Parish Clerk, but support and training will be available for someone new to parish councils and who is willing to learn.
