The Pavilion was alive with exotic Indian Music on Saturday 18th August at our first Curry Night. The Hepworth2Enjoy Team really worked their magic and the Pavilion looked like an exotic Indian venue with beautiful embroidered, sequined colourful drapes, candles and fairy lights, bright orange and purple table covers with multi-coloured serviettes. A colourful Raj sculpture took centre stage. Joss sticks gave a lovely musky scent only outdone by the delicious mix of curry aromas.
Colourful flower garlands were given to each person on arrival. For a few hours we were transported to Mumbai, all that was missing was the Bollywood Dancers – maybe next time ……….
Our guests were served with a varied selection of Chicken Curry, Beef Curry, Vegetable Curry, Lentil Dhal, Mango Chutney, Lime Pickle, Cucumber Raita, Bombay Mix and boiled rice, naan bread and poppadums’ followed by an Exotic Fruit Salad and Fresh Cream.
Some people really embraced the theme and arrived in beautiful saris, kurtas and other colourful robes.
It was lovely to welcome our regulars as well as some village newcomers. The air was filled with a buzz of conversation and laughter. All in all it was a perfect way to spend a Saturday evening.
Look out for more Hepworth2Enjoy events in the near future. Be there or be square!
